RiDeR'S CaFe

We were both on leave today and decided to have a good brunch.. somewhere different...
I came across Riders cafe and decided why not?

The place is quite inaccessible inside Bukit Timah Saddle Club.. its in a small road along Eng Neo towards PIE.. The cafe is just beside the stables and the smell was not very inviting for us.. and the whole place is non air conditioned. So we had to put up with the flies and the smell of horse manure.

Even on a working day the place was decently filled.

The food was ok.. nothing to shout about though.. but they should do something about the flies and smell..

In a blink of an eye, I have already graduated for about 5 years.. 5 years! Oh my i have worked so long already.. I need to take a break soon.. I was looking through my school email and i found lots of forgotten stuff! Emails about projects, school, going to India and some personal emails as well.. its a nice walk down memory lane.. 2 week India trip

I made my frens take a module with me which requires us to go India for 2 weeks! We visited Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune
i think they were quite worried before we went cos normal people would take modules that take u to the states or Europe or Australia but i chose India..

After 1 grueling week of suffering from mad headaches, fever and body ache, I am finally back at work with 6 days of mc taken off my whole year's quota and its only March! I need to use them wisely from now on...

Yes its that time of the year again when Singapore pools holds its annual 10 Million Toto ang bao draw..
According to statistics, the outlet with the most wins is Yishun!
So Shihao and i headed there, hoping to get a share of that 10 million dollars..

Its was 9am and the queue was already freaking long.. Out from 7-11, it had almost circled half the building.. Lucky for us we were early.. by the time we left, i could not see the end of the queue anymore..

a little more than half an hour later we got our winning ticket (I hope)

This is the first time i spent Christmas away.. Left on 24 Dec (Happy Birthday Baby) and back on 27 Dec.. Never been to Penang.. Heard there are lots and lots of good food there...

We walked alot and ate alot too!!

The flight only took us an hour.. before i knew it we were in Penang!..
The hotel was pretty disappointing as the lobby was pathetic the rooms were quite small but adequate for both of us.. but once there was an extra bed in the room, it looked very cramped..
Baby was quite pissed there was no fridge in the hotel room..
The only consolation was the room was clean.. very important factor..

Sorry i will try to book a better hotel the next time.. this was the best offer i could find during the Christmas season.. the others were damn bloody expensive!!

We went around walking in the neighborhood looking for food!!.. we stumbled on a small traditional tea house.. The owner is very nice and helpful...

We had steamboat bbq for dinner which was not very good.. went back to the hotel early to rest as jie was ill and we had an early tour the next day..

Started off the day really really early.. the sun wasn't even up when we left the hotel to look for breakfast.. we had dim sum at a nearby place and started our tour at 8am.. Uncle Allen, our guide for the day was really nice..

First stop was to a Guan yin temple on top of a hill.. really big! The octagon pavillion housing Guan Yin made it to the Guinness book of records!

This was the previous Guan Yin statue.. it collapsed one day. Everything was smashed except the head..

No battery on my camera as i forgot to charge.. spent the day shopping and eating shopping and eating.. We nad Dim sum, kaya toast coffee for breakfast, lunch porridge and dishes at a roadside store, Char kway teow, Hokkien mee, Popiah, curry chee cheong fan, fruit rojak for tea and dinner more dim sum!!.. never had a moment of hunger that day..
